A petrol turbocharger uses exhaust gases to drive an impeller that compresses air within the engine, increasing its efficiency. Air conditioning compressors, such as the BMW E90 air conditioning compressor or the Golf 5 air conditioning compressor, are responsible for compressing the refrigerant in the air conditioning system.
